Visit with old friend along with pain!

Hello everyone, It was nice yesterday to visit with an old friend that stopped in from Shingletown. I've known Mark since Donna and I got married, Which is over 20 years ago. He moved to Shingletown quite some time ago and we don't see each other as much. Mark is going through some of his own medical issues, nerve system problems that keeps him from working also. He's been going through it for several years now with no fix in sight, so please send prayers out to him and his family for pain management and that the doctors can find out answers to his medical issues. We discussed a lot of things like what it does to us not to work, we were both 120% work full out kind of guys and now we pay for it just to do the least bit of work. It attacks our manhood to not be the guys God meant for us to be. We discussed our faith and both agreed that if you don't have Christ going through an illness you have no hope. We talked about families in our situations and how it's best to keep everyone involved with all aspects of the processes that we deal with and answer the questions as we go leaving no one behind, carry each other through. Also we need to fill in the gaps in our histories that my benefit the kids, like telling them the triumphs and pitfalls of our past that they may encounter as they get into young adulthood and marriage ages that seem to far out in the future to think about. Give them a written history of the things that seem almost forgotten in your own mind so they add and pass on to their own when the time comes. Mark, thanks for your insights you are a wise man and your life experiences will help me be a better man to my off spring, stop by more often and as much as you can.
Now we get to the real pain in my life, Pain! I have been dealing with what seems to be a change in my system as of 3 days lately. I hope that this only do to the fact that the chemo is attacking the cancer and not the cancer attacking me! we will find out after the next scan scheduled for Friday 10-9-09. The Doctor has prescribed a stronger pain medication to help cope with this because right now I can only sleep on my right side and I had to cancel a golf game today and believe me I won't stand for that, I could sleep on my right side for ever if I had to. More later.

Thanks one and all. Love Dave and family.
