I'm here, I made it, and not so bad yet! I started chemo full speed ahead, I arose this morning and took the first regiment of pills. Along with the chemo pills I took nausea pills to decrease the inevitable. I am happy to report that I only was sick feeling once and it left me quickly. Other than that I was very tired and dizzy, a little more than usual. So I took a cat nap and it helped. We went to the Solace cancer center for the next step, we arrived at 1:50 and was finally hooked up and running by 2:40 after they did their regular battery of blood work and vitals. They hooked me up with 2 nausea meds, 1 steroid and 2 chemo drugs. Most of the program was fine but I got real tired during parts of it and snoozed off and on. One of the chemo fluids was a dark orange in color, it was strange to see it being funneled into my body. We were about done when I had to go pee really bad so I told the nurse that I would hold it because we were almost done. They said no, no you don't have bladder cancer and I needed to get it out ASAP. On the way in they told me not to be shocked and I thought why did in fall off or something, No that was not it. She said, " your pee is not going to be normal for a couple days." So as Frank Zappa might put it, "Don't you eat that orange snow way out back where Dave Walpole goes!" Ha, I could write my name in orange out in the snow if I could find some.
Thanks goes out to more of our Christan family for the onion/potato soup and salad it was great and I had very minimal pain getting it down, chalk it up to excellent food selection.
We'll see how the next couple days go, prayers are launched and I'll take it easy for now, fatigue will be my worst enemy.
Thanks and love, Dave and Family
